Fèë-vëkê Bî (/ˈfèë/ /ˈvëkɘ/ [cheap] [chord]) is a temperate Town located in the G̈ifêvîlêg̈êyê Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Fèë-vëkê Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Fèë-vëkê Bî was founded by Trilelê Shêbrêye, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Fèë-vëkê Bî has a yearly average temperature of 25°C (77°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 20°C (68°F). Fèë-vëkê Bî receives an average of 267 cm/y (105 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Fèë-vëkê Bî covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1536 m (5039 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Fèë-vëkê Bî was founded durring the early 12th century in winter of the year 1145, by Trilelê Shêbrêye. The establishment of Fèë-vëkê Bî was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Trilelê Shêbrêye electing to pay people to resettle in Fèë-vëkê Bî.

Fèë-vëkê Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Fèë-vëkê Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Fèë-vëkê Bî is buildings are arranged arround a network of premissive paverstone streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town posesses a mighty albit amaturly crafted stone wall. It was built using querried stone blocks and posesses all of the standard defencive features, including a few watch towers. While it would last against a siege, the wall's outdated and simplistic construction method percludes the possability of Fèë-vëkê Bî weathering a full scale bombardment durring a siege. The town's budget focused millitary grade defenses are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

A look around Fèë-vëkê Bî makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It’s a quiet town filled with closed scriptoriums, people quietly yet dejectedly reading in isolated places around town, and the occasional book laying in a heap of garbage.

Civic Infrastructure

Fèë-vëkê Bî has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Fèë-vëkê Bî. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Fèë-vëkê Bî's parks.

Fèë-vëkê Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Fèë-vëkê Bî.

Fèë-vëkê Bî has a Department of Firefighters, which is responsible for organizing fire fighting efforts during a fire and enforcing local ordinances relating to fire safety.

Fèë-vëkê Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Fèë-vëkê Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Fèë-vëkê Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Fèë-vëkê Bî possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Fèë-vëkê Bî's grid is powered by an arcane means.

Fèë-vëkê Bî's old civil lighting system was converted to Galvanic Lamps recently, and expanded to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Fèë-vëkê Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Fèë-vëkê Bî's natural decorations nor waterways.

Fèë-vëkê Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Fèë-vëkê Bî has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

One or more crime bosses have a powerful influence within Fèë-vëkê Bî. They may control crime within the community itself, or they may use it simply as a safe haven from which to direct their minions elsewhere. Local law enforcement may know all about them, but lack the strength to confront them and their paid or intimidated henchmen.

Fèë-vëkê Bî's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is which made use of the classical orders and mathematically precise ratios of height and width combined with a desire for symmetry, proportion, and harmony. It used columns, pediments, arches and domes are imaginatively in buildings of all types. Decorative features were seen as largely unnecessary as the sheer beauty of the structure itself was often close to art. However, many buildings with large ceiling spaces had their ceilings decorated with elaborate paintings, simply because the large flat spaces could feel wasted.
